architecture of the heart. Magma star dance with her love

Architecture of the Heart is a story about the bridges we build across oceans and through pain. In engineering, a bridge is only as strong as its weakest support. When I faced my diagnosis, my world collapsed. I was far from home, in the cold Canadian mist. But in Split, my mother—my Lioness—was my strongest support. She sent me vitamins and hope. My father called me a “hero.” Their faith was my strength.

Years later, I found a new connection. I saw a photo on Facebook and I just knew. We built a bridge of messages for four years. Then, finally, we met in Paris. That moment, Architecture of the Heart, was the end of my long search. Today, I write about people and minerals. I see how pressure turns some into diamonds. My books are about that truth and the freedom we find within ourselves. To understand the strength needed to build real structures, you can read about structural engineering. Below is my story about love, survival, and the “white freedom” of the soul.

Arhitektura srca:

“Nije to ništa, Sanjo dušo moja.
A moj otac… On nije dopuštao da budem žrtva.

Četiri godine smo gradili most od poruka, snova i iščekivanja preko Atlantika.
A onda, Pariz.

Promatram ljude i vidim njihovu kristalnu rešetku. Svi smo mi rođeni kao čista Božja djeca, savršeni minerali puni potencijala za ljubav. Ali život je grub rudar. Nekoga pritisak oblikuje u dijamant, a nekoga smrvi u grafitnu prašinu.

The Architecture of the Heart:
From Split’s Broccoli to the Parisian “Finally”

The Genetics of a Lioness: Vitamins and a Healing Voice

In engineering, a bridge is only as strong as its weakest pillar. When I faced my diagnosis, my world collapsed like a house of cards. Ten thousand kilometers away from my hometown, in the Canadian fog, I became just a number in the oncology ward. But on the other side of the ocean, in sunny Split, stood my mother – my Lioness.
When I broke the news to her, the telephone became an umbilical cord. I remember the sound of her voice – she was stifling her own scream so she could comfort me. “It’s nothing, Sanja, my soul. We caught it in time,” she kept repeating, while inside she must have been screaming with a pain only a mother can feel.
She didn’t ask about the price. When I mentioned broccoli capsules, an expensive, rare supplement that promised immunity, her hand didn’t tremble. She would have sold everything she owned to send me that hope packaged in a small bottle. That package from Split wasn’t just vitamin support; it was the engineering of love. Every capsule was a brick with which she built a shield around my sick body.
And my father… He had his own way. “You are my hero, daddy’s son,” he would tell me. In that rugged, Dalmatian worldview, calling a daughter “son” was the highest title of courage. He did not allow me to be a victim. He saw a warrior where the doctors saw a patient. Their faith was my radiation before the actual radiation.

Three Seconds and Four Years: Destiny on a Screen

As a geologist, I am used to processes that take eons. I am used to mountains wearing down millimeter by millimeter. But the soul does not operate by those laws. The soul operates in moments.
I saw his profile picture on Facebook, and the system inside me simply locked in. No logic, no engineering analysis. It was one of those rare moments when intuition overpowers reason. Three seconds were enough for me to know that my search was over. For four years, we built a bridge of messages, dreams, and anticipation across the Atlantic.
And then, Paris. A city that was once just another flight I was afraid of, became the ground where I finally stood on both feet. When we first embraced, I felt those “ten millimeters” of the fear of death turn into an endless expanse of freedom. “Finally,” I told him. It wasn’t just the meeting of two people; it was the collision of two rocks that had been searching for each other for centuries to create a new landscape.

Microscope vs. Pen: People as Minerals Under Pressure

For years, I spent hours looking through a microscope lens, searching rocks for traces of kimberlite, the minerals that herald diamonds. Today, sitting in France and writing, I do the same thing – except my microscope is now my pen.
I observe people and see their crystal lattice. We are all born as pure children of God, perfect minerals full of the potential for love. But life is a harsh miner. Pressure shapes some into diamonds, and crushes others into graphite dust. My writing is an attempt to remind them that, despite the cracks, they are still part of the eternal mosaic of love.

The Scent of Eternal Truth

I live in the land of castles, where every stone smells of history. But my new book will not smell of perfume. It will smell of pure white paper and naked truth.
It will smell of an eternal love that doesn’t fear wrinkles, of my mother’s prayers from Split, and my father’s pride.
Every page will be soaked in the truth I learned in oncology wards and castles: that the only real freedom is the one you carry inside.
There is only this “white freedom” and the magma that must come out to become a solid rock upon which someone else can build their bridge.
