Woman as a Wave: Why We Don’t Have to Choose Between Tradition and Freedom

People love boxes. They love it when everything is neatly arranged, labeled, and predictable. If you are traditional, then it is, indeed, expected that you remain silent, nod your head, and stick to rigid rules. If you are modern, then you are supposed to reject everything that carries the scent of the past and rush through life without an anchor.
I am, however, a strange breed.
I perceive myself like the sea. My femininity flows in waves, and I never know in advance what will be in the foreground when I wake up and begin my day. Sometimes I am asked how I manage to combine these two seemingly opposite worlds. The answer is simple: I do not join them by force; they simply exist within me as a **Woman as a Wave**.

Anchors That Hold Me and Waves That Carry Me

There are some things I hold onto like a firm anchor, without which my day simply has no scent or meaning. Traditional? Let’s put it this way: I adore cooking and ironing. These are my two daily meditations that I perform with, believe it or not, an immense amount of love. The smell of cooking and the smooth texture of ironed fabric are rituals that give me a sense of home. On the other hand, I have simply removed some “traditional” obligations from the equation. For example, grocery shopping? No thank you; I skipped that part without a shred of guilt.
I also love cleaning, but that is where my modern wave immediately collides. When I take a cloth in my hand, I want to see a partner beside me doing the same. There are no “female” and “male” household chores here; we share a life and we share a space. Specifically, being a **Woman as a Wave** means finding balance in shared responsibility.
Modernity erupts in me during moments when I speak with my husband or anyone else—completely openly, as equals, regardless of gender. I am modern in my mind, in the way I communicate without hidden agendas, and in the fact that I wear what I want. I wear short dresses and dance when I feel like dancing, unconstrained by anyone else’s molds or expectations. This is part of my Manifesto of Steel and Crystals.

Why Does the World Insist on “Either-Or”?

I sometimes wonder why the contemporary world insists so strongly that women must choose. You are either a traditional housewife or an emancipated careerist. It is as if being both is forbidden. Looking around, I see how many women are still deeply tied to strict, traditional frameworks that restrain them. Often, this is connected to inherited religious norms—such as those where women are restricted in their daily freedoms, even in simple rituals like drinking coffee in a cafe because it is “not proper.” But that is another story, a quiet struggle happening behind the closed doors of many homes.
The truth, of course, lies in the freedom to be layered. My femininity is not a monolithic sculpture; it is a mosaic. Within the same person, the scent of homemade soup, a love for ironing, a free spirit in conversation, casual clothing, dance, and unshakeable inner strength can all coexist. This is the essence of my Internal Crystallization.
We do not have to fit into a mold that others invented before we were even born. It is enough to be our own—changeable as the sea, stable as a rock, and completely authentic in every single wave. Being a **Woman as a Wave** is my greatest triumph. Ultimately, our Geography of Grace is defined by this very fluidity.

A ja sam neka čudna sorta.

Sidra koja me drže i valovi koji me nose

Postoje neke stvari kojih se držim kao čvrstog sidra bez kojega moj dan jednostavno nema miris ni smisao. Tradicionalno? Recimo to ovako: obožavam kuhati i peglati.
Nema tu „ženskih“ i „muških“ kućnih poslova; dijelimo život i dijelimo prostor.

U istoj osobi mogu živjeti miris domaće juhe, ljubav prema peglanju, slobodan duh u razgovoru, ležerna odjeća, ples i neslomljiva unutarnja snaga.
