A Smile in the Mirror is the first sign of a peaceful soul. After surviving cancer and divorce, I learned that true joy represents our internal stability. Through soul geology, I discovered that self-love is far more valuable than gold. This shift toward peace is a major tectonic movement in any woman’s life.
The Magic of Inner Peace
Choosing to be kind to yourself every morning over coffee is a vital ritual. Every woman deserves to find her own balance and protect her Malachite Peace. It is the ultimate victory of a resilient heart that has faced many storms. When we stop trying to fix everyone else, we finally have the energy to heal our own wounds.
In my home in Paris, I start the day with gratitude. I look at my reflection and choose to see strength instead of scars. This is not about vanity; it is about recognizing the diamond that was formed under pressure. We often spend years serving others while forgetting our own needs. But the moment you decide that you are important, the entire world changes.
Moving Toward Authenticity
My journey from being a mineralogy engineer to a “Geologist of the Soul” taught me about the layers of human emotion. We are all like minerals, evolving and crystallizing over time. By writing my story, I hope to inspire others to reclaim their visibility. You are not just a collection of roles; you are a masterpiece in progress.
Let your heart be light and your conscience be clean. This is the path to a lasting harmony that no one can take away from you. Enjoy your journey and embrace every part of your unique story.
Osmijeh u ogledalu: Kako sam prestala popravljati druge i počela voljeti sebe
On se krije u malim, skoro nevidljivim pokretima. Volim red u svom domu; volim kad kuhinja blista prije nego započnem svoju meditaciju.
No, moj pravi “tektonski pomak” dogodio se 2007. godine.
Shvatila sam: „I ja sam bitna.

“Sanja, tu es belle,” je me dis à mi-voix. “Tu me plais aujourd’hui.”

A Smile in the Mirror: How I Stopped Fixing Others and Started Loving Myself
Every morning in my Parisian apartment begins with the same quiet ritual. I stand before the mirror, breathe in the scent of the fresh morning, and instead of searching for wrinkles, the traces of sleepless nights, or the shadows of the past, I smile at myself. “Sanja, you are beautiful,” I tell myself softly. “I like you today.” To some, this might sound unusual, perhaps even selfish, but to me, it is the most sincere prayer of gratitude. It took me half a century to learn to love the woman in the reflection. Today, my eyes are sincere and warm, for I have expelled from them all the sediment of other people’s expectations. What happened before, I no longer allow to define me—in my internal geology, time has washed away all the sharp edges, leaving only the pure rock upon which I build my peace.
This peace, my Malachite Peace, did not come on its own. It hides in small, almost invisible movements. I love order in my home; I love when the kitchen sparkles before I begin my meditation. But the most important part of the morning is my coffee of gratitude. As I prepare it, I pay attention to every detail. I add exactly one drop of milk, watching the white color slowly blend with the darkness of the coffee. I do this with the exact precision my mother used. She knew how to strike that perfect shade, that ideal warmth that didn’t just warm the palms, but the soul. Every time I taste that familiar flavor, I feel her presence. It is the infusion of love and strength she gave me, the fuel that allows me to walk through the streets of Paris with my head held high.
As a mineralogy engineer, for years I functioned by blueprints. I believed that life, much like a crystal lattice, could be fixed if you tried hard enough. But my true “tectonic shift” happened in 2007. Until then, I was a woman who was everything to everyone, except to herself. I worked from eight to four, then rushed home where two young children awaited me. I gave them all my strength, paid tutors for English and math, kept watch over their dreams. On top of that, I had a husband who wanted a house full of guests, noise, and constant movement. My silence was a luxury I could not afford. I was like a mineral under too much pressure—hard on the outside, but brittle on the inside, ready to crumble.
And then, something inside me simply snapped. I realized: “I matter too. My time is my life.” It was not an act of betrayal toward my family, but an act of saving myself. I began to neglect the role of the perfect housewife the moment I returned from work. I would sit down at the computer as early as four in the afternoon and write. I wrote like a woman possessed—up to 40 posts a day! Out of me poured the first notes, the first poems, emotions suppressed for years that were just waiting for me to pay attention to them. I gave up on fulfilling other people’s desires to become lighter, to become the poetic Sanja who no longer analyzes rocks, but the human soul.
Often on the internet, I come across people who steal, who are harsh or try to extinguish someone else’s light. It no longer angers me; I only feel sadness. If I could, I would gift each of them a crystal of my own realization. I would take them back to that time in their past when they lost the feeling of being loved. Because no one who carries love within has the need to be cruel. I would gift them that drop of milk in the coffee, that feeling of safety that prevents a heart from turning into stone.
It is easy to find your place in the sun once you stop running from yourself. My geology today is clear: order in the heart, peace in the apartment, and that sincere smile in the mirror confirming to me every morning that finally, after all the storms, I have come home.
