Crystallization of the Heart occurs when we face our deepest pains with courage. My return to Split was marked by a painful separation from my son, a trial that tested my very foundation. Yet, through daily messages and shared vulnerability, this struggle led to a magnificent love in Paris. As a Soul Geologist, I know that the most beautiful crystals form under intense heat.
You can support my journey and buy me a coffee on Ko-fi. My books, including “Tectonics of the Heart,” are available on my Amazon Author Page. This crystallization of the heart is a testament to the power of connection. If you missed the previous chapter, read about Metamorphosis in the Rain. Love is the ultimate mineral of the soul.
Epizoda 8: Kristalizacija Srca — Od Splita do pariških ulica
“Otvorila sam svoju geodu i pokazala mu sve svoje pukotine, sav svoj ‘ugalj’ i sve svoje skrivene dijamante.
Tamo sam upoznala njega. Četiri duge godine dopisivali smo se svaki dan. Njemu sam, baš kao i vama sada, rekla sve – od A do Ž. Otvorila sam svoju geodu i pokazala mu sve svoje pukotine, sav svoj “ugalj” i sve svoje skrivene dijamante.
Episode 8: Crystallization of the Heart — From Split to the Streets of Paris
“I opened my geode and showed him all my cracks, all my ‘coal,’ and all my hidden diamonds. I knew he was the one. Without fear, without holding back.”
Returning to my mother’s house in Split after so many years in Canada was a return to my roots. I slept in a room that smelled of childhood, while outside the Dalmatian sun tried to scorch the Vancouver dampness out of my bones. My older son was with me, but the freedom of Belgrade and his father’s promises to finance his university education were stronger than my peace. He left. My heart broke as I scraped together money for a bus ticket just to see him for seven days, but he already belonged to another world.
In geology, the most beautiful crystals form in peace, after the ground has stopped shaking.
My peace was called Facebook, and the year was 2010. That is where I met him. For four long years, we messaged each other every day. I told him everything, from A to Z, just as I am telling you now. I opened my geode and showed him all my cracks, all my “coal,” and all my hidden diamonds.
I knew he was the one. Without fear, without holding back. My heart, though wounded by cancer and betrayals, was beating to a new rhythm.
At the end of October, before I was supposed to fly back to Vancouver to finally sign the divorce papers and close that chapter, I stopped in Paris. That meeting wasn’t just an introduction; it was my new beginning. As I walked the streets of Paris, I felt my inner “magma” had finally calmed.
I was no longer the betrayed woman from the 14th floor of a Vancouver skyscraper. I was Sanja, who had learned to love again. In Paris, my renaissance began. My happiness and my falling in love became my new mineral composition—impenetrable and brilliant.
