Geology of Shine is the moment we decide to stop digging into old wounds and start reflecting the light. After years of tectonic struggles, I decided to become Molybdenite—soft enough to leave a mark, yet bright enough to glow. As a Soul Geologist in Paris, I’ve learned that optimism is a structural choice. We don’t just find lightness; we build it layer by layer.

You can support my journey and buy me a coffee on Ko-fi. My books on transformation and finding your inner glow are available on my Amazon Author Page. Embracing the geology of shine means choosing peace over pain. If you missed my earlier reflections on memory, read about Sediments of Joy. It is time to let the surface sparkle.

Geologija sjaja: Zašto sam odlučila postati Molibdenit

Dugo sam provela u dubinama.

Molibdenit – Metalik sjaj nove nade

Ako bi me netko danas pitao koji mineral najbolje opisuje moje stanje duha, ne bih izabrala gorski kristal niti teški granit. Izabrala bih molibdenit.

Ljudi me pitaju jesam li zaljubljena. I jesam.

The Geology of Shine: Why I Decided to Become Molybdenite

I spent a long time in the depths. As someone who studied rocks, minerals, and tectonics for years, I am used to pressure. I believed that the soul, just like a diamond, is polished exclusively through pain, through the weight of the layers pressing down on us until we become something solid. For years, my stories were soaked in those sediments of the past—memories of Vancouver rains, Parisian fogs, and the scars left by major life fractures.
But today, as I look through the window of my Parisian balcony, I feel that the course of my inner current has changed.
I no longer want to write about what was broken. I want to write about what was born in that breaking.

A Dance with Celestial Forces

My fascination with nature never ceased, but it has transformed. In the past, I would look at the clouds searching for the announcement of a storm. Today, even when the sky over France is gray and heavy, I do something someone might call stubborn, but I call healing: I look for the color blue. I look for that small, shy rift in the clouds through which eternity peeks.
When it rains, I no longer retreat into myself. I listen to it. I watch the branches of our tree next to the balcony sway under the gusts of wind, and I don’t see a struggle in it, but a dance. These are the celestial forces reminding us that everything is in motion. If the tree didn’t sway, it would break. Strength is not in immobility, but in the ability to move with the wind while keeping your roots deep in the earth.

Molybdenite – The Metallic Shine of New Hope

If someone were to ask me today which mineral best describes my state of mind, I wouldn’t choose rock crystal or heavy granite. I would choose molybdenite. It has this wonderful, metallic reflection reminiscent of silver moonlight. It is soft, almost silky under the fingers, but its structure is resilient.
My positive energy today is exactly like that—it is not aggressive, it does not scream. It shines with that muted, elegant glow of someone who has walked through the fire and come out the other side, not burned, but polished. It is a shine that does not come from the outside, but from the very core of a being who decided she will no longer be a hostage to her own history.

Step by Step Toward Myself

Optimism is not just a thought; it is an action. Today I did something completely simple, yet revolutionary for me. I ordered a walking treadmill. It may sound prosaic, but for me, it is a symbol of a new chapter. Those ten thousand steps I will take every day in the safety of my home, while outside the Parisian rooftops change colors, will be my new meditation.
Every step on that treadmill will mean shedding those few pounds of burden I accumulated in moments of sadness. Every step is the discarding of layers of “sediments” that no longer serve me. I want to walk toward a lighter version of myself—lighter in body, but primarily lighter in soul. Ten thousand steps a day is ten thousand proofs that I am moving forward.

A Smile as the Only Truth

Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and don’t recognize the woman looking back at me. Not because she is older, but because she radiates something I haven’t seen in a long time. It is that smile that cannot be faked.
People ask me if I am in love. And I am. I am in love with the fact that I survived, that I am here, and that I can still feel the exhilaration of a sunrise.
I am in love with that peaceful, “molybdenite” shine that appears when you stop digging in the wound and start planting flowers in that spot.
My message to you reading this is simple: do not wait for the clouds to clear to be happy. Look for the blue in the sky while it is still raining. Feel the wind rocking you and know that it is only a sign that you are alive. Be soft as molybdenite, but shine like the purest metal. The geology of your soul is in your hands.
