Architecture of an itch is a silent language. It is how the body speaks of trauma. As a Soul Geologist, I listen. Our skin remembers every betrayal. The mind tries to forget the gaslighting. But the body reacts. This is a signal for healing. We must protect our inner peace now.

Architecture of an itch - Magma Star.

Arhitektura svrbeža: Što tijelo zna, a um odbija priznati

Ono pamti svaku izdaju koju smo pokušali racionalizirati.

Vidim njezine crvene noge i njezinu tihu patnju.
Želim joj reći: “To nije alergija, draga moja.

The Architecture of an Itch: What the Body Knows and the Mind Refuses to Admit

By: Magma Star

There are moments in life when physiology rebels against politeness. As a former mineralogy engineer, I spent years studying how crystal lattices break under pressure. I know that every mineral has its breaking point. But that winter in Los Angeles, on December 1st, I learned that human skin has its own seismography.
It all started with the rain. A strange, heavy rain for California, soaking the pavements after we returned from Disneyland. We had celebrated my younger son’s third birthday. It was that fragile illusion of family peace I was desperately trying to maintain, building a house of cards while the foundations had long been soaked in betrayal. I was sitting on the living room carpet, playing with my older son, who was six at the time. The smell of a sleeping child and dampness hung in the air. And then the doorbell rang.

An Intruder in the System

There she was at the door. My then-husband’s mistress. She had flown in from Vancouver, apparently unable to bear the thought of the four of us being alone, even for a few days, even for a child’s birthday. She said she came to “surprise” the child. My mind, trained to be civilized, to be a “lady,” to avoid making a scene in front of the kids, tried to process this information as a logical error.
But my body? My body immediately went into a state of red alert.
While I was still sitting on that carpet, I felt my legs and thighs start to burn. It was an itch like I had never felt before. It wasn’t a light tingling; it was lava that had broken through the crust and started flowing through my veins. My fingers moved toward my skin on their own, leaving bright, red streaks, like scars on the earth after an earthquake.
At the time, I attributed it to an allergy to the carpet in that apartment. I told myself: “It must be dust. It must be the detergent.” The mind’s lie is always easier than the body’s truth. But physiology doesn’t lie. The skin is our boundary organ, the dividing line between our internal world and external chaos. In that moment, my skin was screaming what I wasn’t allowed to say: “There is an intruder here. Your integrity has been breached. Your peace is contaminated.”

The Geology of Suppressed Feelings

When something inside wants to get out, and we don’t give it passage through the throat, it will find a way through the pores. An itch is a nervous reaction to tension that has nowhere to go. In geology, when magma accumulates beneath the surface and has no vent, it creates pressure that must eventually result in an eruption.
My itch was my eruption. It was my “Yin Yang” balance being brutally disrupted. My shadow—that part of me that wanted to scream, throw her out of the apartment, and end this farce of a marriage—was silenced by my need to “be a good person.” But the shadow didn’t disappear. It moved to my palms, my back, my thighs.
Everything we put “behind us” ends up in our backs. Everything we don’t want to see causes an itch around the eyes. Everything we don’t want to say tightens around our neck.
The body is your oldest and most loyal ally. It remembers every betrayal we tried to rationalize.

A Letter to the Younger Sanja

Today, as Magma Star, as a woman who found her “Malachite Peace” in Paris after 45, I look at that thirty-year-old Sanja on the carpet in LA. I see her red legs and her silent suffering.
I want to tell her: “It’s not an allergy, my dear. It is your strength that no longer wants to hide. It is your shame, which actually isn’t yours. You took on someone else’s betrayal and tried to digest it, but your skin is too pure to accept it.”
I took her shame as my own. That was my biggest mistake. I thought it was my fault that my husband had another woman in our home. I thought I had to guard that secret like some radioactive substance that would destroy us all. But in reality, that substance was already destroying me.

A Wake-Up Call

If something is itching you today, if you feel tension you cannot explain, stop. Don’t just reach for the cream. Ask yourself: Who is under my skin? What do I not want to know? Where did I allow my boundaries to be trampled?
The body is a compass. An itch is a wake-up call. It is a sign that something in your life no longer aligns with your internal structure. Do not fear that lava. It does not come to burn you; it comes to burn everything that is not you, so that in the end, only the pure, transparent crystal of your truth remains.
Today in Paris, my boundaries are made of granite. My architecture of peace is built on the lessons of Los Angeles. And I no longer let anyone “get under my skin” if they don’t belong there.
