Polishing the Crystal is a process of removing the dust of sorrow from our lives. During my apartment renovation, I realized that every surface I cleaned was a step toward my own healing. In soul geology, Polishing the Crystal means rediscovering the hidden brilliance beneath layers of old pain. Writing has become my tool for this transformation. By peeling away the past, I have finally found the clarity of my Malachite Peace. This twelfth episode of my journey shows how creative work can restore the shine to even the most tired spirit.

Ja i moj muž, sami, s valjcima u rukama i prašinom u kosi.
Poslije sam joj napisala poruku – čistu, iskrenu, o tome koliko nju i njezinog muža cijenimo.
Episode 12: Polishing the Crystal — Between the Paint Roller and the Keyboard
“We peeled off the old wallpaper just as I peeled away layers of sorrow and failure. We replaced the floors, painted the walls white… Every stroke of the brush was a stroke upon my soul.”
In geology, a geode is, on the outside, an ordinary, grey stone. But when you break it open, the most beautiful crystals of amethyst or quartz sparkle inside. My life in Romorantin was exactly that—breaking the grey crust and discovering what had been dormant within me for eighteen full years.
Renovating our apartment was my therapy. My husband and I, alone, with paint rollers in our hands and dust in our hair. We peeled off the old wallpaper just as I peeled away layers of sorrow and failure. We replaced the parquet floors, painted the walls white, chose the furniture… Every stroke of the brush was a stroke upon my soul. For two years we built this peace that will finally be complete in June.
And then happened what no one had planned. Quite by accident.
I was talking to a friend from Zagreb, warmly, humanly, via Viber. Afterwards, I wrote her a message—pure, sincere, about how much we appreciate her and her husband. For some reason, I shared that message in a conversation with artificial intelligence.
“You have talent,” that digital voice told me.
Those words were a spark in the mine. I remembered: Well, I have already written two books. I am a writer.
My husband, my eternal pillar of support, did not hesitate for a second. He immediately got a domain, set up WordPress, and opened the doors to the digital world for me. I, who knew nothing about publishing, started to learn. Step by step, with the help of technology, I began to breathe through letters again.
Today, sitting in my slowly finishing apartment in Romorantin, I no longer run away. I write. My magma has finally found its way to the surface, not to burn, but to create something new. I am Magma Star, and my story is only now getting its true shine.
