Cracks in the Rhythm: When a Pomegranate Ripens in Silence
Experiencing cracks in the rhythm of our creative writing is a natural part of every author’s journey. There are days when writing is like breathing. Words flow effortlessly, thoughts arrange themselves like crystals in a perfect lattice, and the rhythm of the day is synchronized with the rhythm of typing on the keyboard. Notably, those are the days when I feel connected to myself and the world, when every sediment of lived experience finds its place in the story. And then life happens. Specifically, some unforeseen, strange tectonic change in the daily routine throws me out of step, creating painful cracks in the rhythm of my soul.
And three days pass.
For someone, three days are just a short break, but for me, who writes to survive, those three days of silence become an unbearable weight. Specifically, a feeling of stagnation arises in my body that is not just a creative block; it is physical pain. Consequently, I feel it as a weight I didn’t discharge in time, like accumulated silt pressing against the lungs. Indeed, the most accurate way I can describe it is that I feel like a leukemia patient who hasn’t received their blood for those three days. Writing is my transfusion. Therefore, without it, my life energy begins to stagnate, becoming thick and dark.
The Digital Wall and the Flow of Words
When I finally try to return, I face a massive digital wall. Notably, I open Medium and see a river of unread articles. They look like a mountain that is impossible to conquer. Specifically, it feels as if I’ve missed an entire month, not just seventy-two hours. In a world that moves at the speed of light, my three-day silence feels like an eternity. Consequently, here arises that strange paradox of the writer: while I try to read others, a million new titles are born in my head. These gaps are not empty; they are simply temporary cracks in the rhythm.
The Pomegranate of Silent Ripening
Furthermore, other people’s thoughts stifle me, not because they are not good, but because they provoke my own that have been locked away for too long. Notably, it irritates me to read to the end. I want to interrupt someone else’s sentence to start my own. Indeed, my ideas are no longer just thoughts; they are a physical force. Specifically, I feel like a pomegranate, that heavy, ripe pomegranate that has ripened in the sun to the limit of endurance. I am so full of that “ripeness” that I would burst if I didn’t start writing immediately. Therefore, every grain of the pomegranate is an unspoken story, red and juicy, crying out for paper.
In that moment, panic seizes me. Notably, I feel fear that I will never manage to read everything written, fear that my titles will fade before I record them, fear that I have lost step with time. Consequently, that panic is like an internal earthquake – devastating and noisy. But then I remember what I teach others: soul geology requires patience.
The Healing Power of Soul Geology
The first step of returning is not feverish typing. Specifically, the first step is breathing. I must consciously detach myself from that noise, from that mountain of unread mail and titles screaming from the screen. Notably, I close my eyes and focus on the breath. Deep inhale, long exhale. Indeed, I must calm that fermentation within me, that surging energy of the pomegranate that is bursting. Only when breathing becomes calm does the panic recede. Consequently, the wind of my writing slowly wears down these cracks in the rhythm.
I realize that I don’t have to make up for everything that has passed. Specifically, the world won’t stop if some articles remain unread. Notably, it is only important to re-establish contact with what is smoldering inside me. From those hundred themes spinning in my head, I choose only one. Therefore, I focus on one rock that I will shape today.
Ultimately, walking is done step by step. Writing is done word by word. Calmly, without thoughts of what was or what is yet to come, I return to my routine. My “infusion” flows again. And as the first words come out of me, I feel that weight decreasing. I am no longer the pomegranate that is bursting; now I am a river that has found its bed again. Peace is the only way back, and breathing is the key that opens the door to my creative home. Indeed, the cracks in the rhythm of your life are simply places where new crystals of wisdom can grow.
Peace is the only way back, and breathing is the key that opens the door to my creative home.
I am no longer the pomegranate that is bursting; now I am a river that has found its bed again.
I am no longer the pomegranate that is bursting; now I am a river that has found its bed again.
Pukotine u ritmu: Kad nar sazrije u tišini
Točnije, neka nepredviđena, čudna tektonska promjena u svakodnevici izbaci me iz takta, stvarajući bolne pukotine u ritmu moje duše.
I prođu tri dana.
Stoga, bez njega, moja životna energija počinje stagnirati, postaje gusta i tamna.
Digitalni zid i protok riječi
U tom trenutku me hvata panika.
Duboki udah, dugi izdah.
