My dad my captain was the anchor of my young life. He showed me the beauty of the sea and the meaning of safety. This is a tribute to the man who shaped my world. Memories of him are my most precious treasure today.

My dad my captain - Magma Star

Moj tata

Moja dobra vila, moj mir i moja dobrota.
On je bio kapetan našeg broda,
volio blagim osmijehom
i govorio tihim glasom
u kojem nije bilo straha.
Naš kapetan imao je svoju radnu disciplinu,
ali nikada nas njome nije opterećivao.
Sve je radio u svoje vrijeme,
povezan s morem i nebom,
jer sigurnost za nas dvije
bila mu je prva stvar na svijetu.
I dok smo plovili plavim, mirnim morem,
mogli smo zajedno plesati i pjevati,
a naša tri srca
kucala su kao jedno.
I dok danas gledam unatrag,
znam da sam odrasla u luci
iz koje se uvijek polazi bez straha.
Jer ja sam dijete kapetana.

Mon papa

My Dad

I never told you who my dad was.
My good fairy, my peace, and my kindness.
He was the captain of our ship,
where mom and I always felt safe.
We had the sun following us,
because dad always knew how to place it right for the two of us.
He saw us with a calm gaze,
loved us with a gentle smile,
and spoke in a quiet voice
in which there was no fear.
Our captain had his work discipline,
but he never burdened us with it.
He did everything in his own time,
connected with the sea and the sky,
because safety for the two of us
was the first thing in the world to him.
And as we sailed the blue, calm sea,
we could dance and sing together,
in a love that few people saw.
Our ship was woven of love and safety,
and our three hearts
beat as one.
And as I look back today,
I know I grew up in a harbor
from which one always departs without fear.
Because I am a captain’s child.
